The Knot Worldwide is looking for a passionate DevOps. Your duties will be to maintain the activity, necessary for the systems you are in charge of to meet the established service requirements. You will provide proposals for the improvement of the platform and possible problems that may be detected. You will also automate the maintenance and configuration of the systems. 

You will work on an international team with squads based in the US and Spain. There is a total of 10 people in the team. 

You will be responsible for the management of the international platform, present in 16 countries with a high traffic volume. You will also participate in evolving the platform and  create new tools to support the engineering teams deploy their services.

ABOUT OUR TECH STACK:

  • We have our platform on AWS in a multi-region environment. It is automated with Puppet and Sceptre. 
  • We are in the process of migrating to Kubernetes (EKS) and the platform in this environment is managed by Terraform.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will maintain the necessary activity to ensure that the systems in your charge meet the established service requirements.
  • You will provide proposals for the improvement of the platform and possible problems that may be detected.
  • You will automate the maintenance and configuration of the systems.
  • You will provide tools to help the engineering teams create/maintain their services.

SUCCESSFUL DEVOPS CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • You have experience in web environments (preferably with a lot of traffic).
  • You have a solid knowledge of AWS
  • You have experience in Kubernetes and Helm
  • You can bring a high level of knowledge of Linux environments.

The Knot Worldwide is looking for a highly motivated software engineer with a passion for doing things right with meticulous detail. The individual's primary role will be to support and develop applications to enable our couples to plan their weddings and communicate with their guests.

As an engineer on this team, you’ll draw on your technical expertise to ensure these tools have high uptime and strong performance while working with other technical leaders to build a longer term roadmap to match the needs of an ever growing engineering organization.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage skills and experience to implement product features that are well architected, tested, and understandable.
  • Actively participate in the ideation and execution of product roadmap, architecture discussions, and Agile planning.
  • Our frontend stack: we write in CSS in Sass, using BEM as an organizational methodology and writing standards with Stylelint. Regarding CSS packaging, we use Webpack in the new responsive architecture and we keep Grunt in the legacy part of our code.
  • In Javascript we write in ES6, transpile with Babel and package with Webpack. Although there are still parts of the code where jQuery is used, in the responsive architecture we have removed it entirely in order to work with vanilla javascript for maximum efficiency. Although we're moving away from jQuery, we still use it so it's important that you feel comfortable working with it.
  • Our backend stack: we write PHP using Symfony, mysql databases, redis cache, sphinx search, elastic search… 
  • You will be developing on a site with very (but VERY) high traffic. Consequently your work will have a great impact.

 

SUCCESSFUL FULLSTACK DEVELOPERS CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 5+ years overall engineering experience
  • You have an advanced level in HTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • You have backend background (PHP, Elasticsearch, Redis…)
  • Experience working in an Agile, TDD environment
  • Hexagonal architecture
  • Data services and Database Schema Creation for Business Processes 
  • Error handling Skill
  • Experience in Implementing Data Protection CCPA and GDPR)

  • Manage multiple teams focused on supporting our global sales organization, financial processes and HRIS systems.
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the team and with internal business partners.

  • Actively work with departmental leaders to understand where internal processes can be improved and lead teams to improve those processes effectively at a global scale.
  • Vet and manage external consultants when projects require additional capacity or expertise.

SUCCESSFUL VP, ENTERPRISE CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 10+ years overall experience, with a proven track record implementing and optimizing sales, financial, and HRIS systems across a global organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative work culture with teammates located in-office or remote, across multiple locations in the US and abroad.
  • Experience implementing a global HRIS system;  familiarity with Oracle Fusion a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce CRM and CPQ with proven experience deploying a global solution that scales internationally.
  • Experience managing an ERP that supports multiple business lines and countries; familiarity with Netsuite a plus.
  • Has led organizations through successful SOC compliance efforts including oversight of audit reviews.
  • In-depth experience working in an Agile environment and creating proactive partnerships with business counterparts.

ABOUT THE JUNIOR QA ENGINEER IN TEST ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is hiring a Junior QA Engineer in Test to join a highly motivated team.  The right engineer will enjoy fast paced collaboration with product, design, and user experience teams in an Agile environment to ensure high quality web and mobile features for our couples.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that features are high-quality by building test strategies and plans,  writing and executing test cases, and communicating with the team about issues, risk, and product quality.
  • To document and manually test new features and bug fixes and to track the execution of such tests. 
  • To effectively and regularly communicate test status with management.
  • Interface with teams in coordination of cross browser and manual regression testing when needed.
  • Promote best practices surrounding documented use cases and test case documentation.
  • Understand enterprise systems, how to do End to End, cross-browser, multilingual testing and testing APIs
  • Motivated to learn and train in test automation

SUCCESSFUL JUNIOR QA ENGINEER IN TEST HAS:

  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Testing experience with complex enterprise systems including cross browser, end to end, backend, multilingual and API  testing.
  • Some experience with modern UI test frameworks like Cypress or TestCafe.
  • Experience with SQL queries is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

You will be responsible for the overall Registry product offering for our Couples on The Knot. You will be leading a talented and experienced mobile engineering team, working on some of The Knot’s most important initiatives.

The Knot is the nation’s leading wedding marketplace, providing couples with a personalized experience that guides them through the entire wedding planning journey.  The Registry team develops tools for couples to register for gifts, for their guests to buy them, and the back-end systems to make it all happen stress-free.  

SUCCESSFUL LEAD iOS ENGINEER CANDIDATES HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

  • 7+ years overall engineering experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be a top-notch engineer with a passion for their craft.
  • Independent, highly motivated leader with a desire to win.
  • Firm understanding of application programming and iOS architecture patterns.
  • Proven real-world experience using Swift and Cocoa Touch APIs successfully.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

As a Lead UX Writer, you will use clarifying language and brand personality to help shape our digital experiences. You will collaborate with product designers and product marketers to craft clear and useful content for users, while bringing simplicity and life to tools and moments across the experience. 

As an end-to-end contributor, you will collaborate with your team from concept through delivery on everything from small features and iterative enhancements to large system-wide initiatives. You will adhere to brand tone guidelines, and establish and maintain consistency in our product copy—from buttons and notifications to entire flows—with a unified voice. 

In this role, you will lead the UX Writing discipline at The Knot Worldwide by bringing deep expertise and authority from within the UX Writing space and providing guidance, feedback, and skill development to our writers. You will have the opportunity to help elevate the quality and craft of UX Writing across our product experiences while influencing and shaping broader UX strategy initiatives with a focus on language. You will also be responsible for establishing operational excellence through process improvements and documentation.

The TKWW InfoSec Team is looking for a Security Engineer to help build and grow security operations to address both deeply technical and programmatic security issues and emerging new threats. You will partner with key project stakeholders to identify key security issues, implement actionable plans to achieve remediation of security threats, and dive deep into tactical security aspects of a service in need of extra attention. 

Successful Security Engineers at TKWW are self-starters, able to work autonomously, natural problem solvers, collaborative, and not fazed by adversity or ambiguity. You should have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, a deep technical understanding of modern cloud security threats, the ability to influence people from customers to managers through technical solutions, and the desire to be an individual contributor to securing TKWW’s platform and system/services technology.

The TKWW InfoSec Team is responsible for the security and availability of all services offered by TKWW, as well as providing security support for teams leveraging those services. The TKWW InfoSec team works with service teams to design and build secure solutions, participate in and coordinate cross-organization security initiatives, and solve security challenges at scale. This is an exciting and visible role – you will directly influence the security postures for TKWW products and services. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Engineering teams across TKWW to :
    • provide scalable vulnerability management and assessment procedures and provide cloud security reviews.
    • build secure and scalable containerized architectures in the cloud.
    • Implement information security controls and patterns that support risk assessments and the development of secure architectures.
    • drive product roadmaps, by providing security requirements that map security controls to service features.
  • Use threat detection platforms to identify risks to systems, applications, and TK confidential information.

The experienced and impassioned Frontend Developer (you!) will help to create components for a Design System that is being used by other feature teams to build great experiences for our users. Your day-to-day will consist of developing those components sometimes by your own and other times mentoring other developers from the feature teams to contribute to the Design System. You will work closely alongside other frontend team members and backends, product managers, designers and QAs as well, and report to an engineer manager.

  • We write components in React that are imported by the feature teams on their own stacks (usually a Next.js framework).

  • The components live in a monorepo managed by Turborepo using semantic versioning and are published on a private Github repository from where feature teams can consume them.
  • All components come out with mandatory tests to ensure their further maintenance.
  • Sometimes we like to work side by side with the feature teams to ensure that high standards on Performance and Accessibility are achieved.
  • You will be developing on a site with very (but VERY) high traffic. Consequently your work will have a great impact.
  • We love good practices, well-done things, web performance and standards.
  • Our team uses Scrum methodology, so you'll be working in a highly organized and agile environment.
  • SEO is always on your mind, and you have to feel comfortable adapting your code to SEO requirements.

  • You have 3-4 years of experience working as frontend developer

  • Lead product and platform initiatives building the tools that couples use to find, customize, and purchase their wedding invitations.
  • Help migrate the existing Invitations platform onto a modern tech stack (Node/React) and a new ecommerce solution.
  • Contribute technical expertise to architecture decisions.
  • Establish and advocate for coding best practices on the team, and stay up-to-date on new technologies and industry standards.
  • Participate in the ideation and execution of the technical and product roadmaps.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

The experienced and impassioned Frontend Developer (you!) will help  to show high-valuable and trustworthy information about our vendors and create features that simplify the wedding planning process for couples. Your day-to-day will consist of developing new functionalities and migrating some of the old ones.  You will work closely alongside backends, product managers, designers and QAs and other key business partners and report to the Engineering Manager. 

We come from more than 20 different nationalities, so you will work within a multicultural environment. It will be very comfortable for you to work and you will enjoy yourself!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Our frontend stack: we write in CSS in Sass, using BEM as an organizational methodology and writing standards with Stylelint. Regarding CSS packaging, we use Webpack in the new responsive architecture and we keep Grunt in the legacy part of our code.
  • In Javascript we write in ES6, transpile with Babel and package with Webpack. Although there are still parts of the code where jQuery is used, in the responsive architecture we have removed it entirely in order to work with vanilla javascript for maximum efficiency. Although we're moving away from jQuery, we still use it so it's important that you feel comfortable working with it.
  • You will be developing on a site with very (but VERY) high traffic. Consequently your work will have a great impact.
  • We love good practices, well-done things, web performance and standards.
  • Our team uses Scrum methodology, so you'll be working in a highly organized and agile environment.
  • AB testing is an integral part of our business, so you must provide experience working with it.
  • SEO is always on your mind, and you have to feel comfortable adapting your code to SEO requirements.

SUCCESSFUL SENIOR FRONTEND CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • You have 6-8 years of experience working as frontend developer
  • You have a very advanced level in HTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • You know the meaning of Clean Code because clean code is not only for the backend.
