The Knot Worldwide is looking for a passionate DevOps. Your duties will be to maintain the activity, necessary for the systems you are in charge of to meet the established service requirements. You will provide proposals for the improvement of the platform and possible problems that may be detected. You will also automate the maintenance and configuration of the systems. 

You will work on an international team with squads based in the US and Spain. There is a total of 10 people in the team. 

You will be responsible for the management of the international platform, present in 16 countries with a high traffic volume. You will also participate in evolving the platform and  create new tools to support the engineering teams deploy their services.

ABOUT OUR TECH STACK:

  • We have our platform on AWS in a multi-region environment. It is automated with Puppet and Sceptre. 
  • We are in the process of migrating to Kubernetes (EKS) and the platform in this environment is managed by Terraform.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will maintain the necessary activity to ensure that the systems in your charge meet the established service requirements.
  • You will provide proposals for the improvement of the platform and possible problems that may be detected.
  • You will automate the maintenance and configuration of the systems.
  • You will provide tools to help the engineering teams create/maintain their services. 

SUCCESSFUL DEVOPS CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • You have experience in web environments (preferably with a lot of traffic).
  • You have a solid knowledge of AWS
  • You have experience in Kubernetes and Helm
  • You can bring a high level of knowledge of Linux environments.
  • You have been working in an automated environment.
  • We are working with the US team, so we will need you to have a good level of English.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

As a Senior Frontend Developer in the Design Systems team, you will play an important role in developing a Design System that will be used in 6 (and counting) globally recognized brands, many of which have very high trafficked sites. Therefore, you will have a huge impact on the productivity of multiple international engineering teams, as well as the experience of millions of users worldwide. 

You will work closely with a strong frontend development team, as well as our partners in product, design, QA, and backend engineering. Occasionally, you will work with the product development teams to offer mentorship and support as they develop UI components for the Design System or as they encounter problems adopting the design system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop UI components and frontend libraries that are consumed by the Product Development teams.
  • Develop CI/CD workflows to manage changes in Design System repository.
  • Write automated integration and unit tests for UI components and libraries.
  • Write documentation for UI components and libraries.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Product teams to create robust technical solutions for our UI problems.
  • Participate in Scrum meetings and assist in defining the technical roadmap for the Design System.
  • Ensure high standards of accessibility, performance, and code quality are met.

SUCCESSFUL SENIOR FRONTEND CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 6-8 years of experience working as frontend developer
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and web standards.
  • 2-4 years of experience developing components using React.
  • Experience with modular CSS technologies/methodologies such as BEM, CSS Modules, or CSS-in-JS.
  • Experience and proficiency with common frontend build tools such as Webpack, Babel, Sass, PostCSS.
  • Experience building UIs accessible to keyboard users and screen readers.
  • Experience writing tests using Jest, Cypress and/or Testing Library.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins.
  • Expertise with Git and version control tools.
  • Experience debugging and addressing Core Web Vitals performance issues.
  • Experience with internalization and localization.
  • Experience applying SEO practices.
  • Experience authoring libraries.
  • Fluency in English language.
  • Experience with Storybook, Next.js, and Typescript is a plus.

The Knot is the nation’s leading wedding marketplace, providing couples with a personalized experience that guides them through the entire wedding planning journey.  The Registry team develops tools for couples to register for gifts, for their guests to buy them, and the back-end systems to make it all happen stress-free. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage skills and experience to implement product features that are well architected, tested, and understandable.
  • Actively participate in the ideation and execution of product roadmap and Agile Planning.
  • Lead best practices surrounding Test-driven Development (TDD), continuous integration, code standards, etc.
  • Iterative platform development, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Work independently as well as lead and guide other engineers on the team.

SUCCESSFUL LEAD ENGINEER CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 5+ years overall engineering experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Independent and highly motivated leader.
  • Experience with a cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Strong knowledge of React and Javascript fundamentals.
  • Proven real-world experience using React and Node.js successfully at scale.

ABOUT THE QA Manager ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is looking for a highly motivated QA manager with a passion for leading teams that create elegant and scalable software for our users.  The right individual will have a proven track record delivering engaging, consumer focused products within a data driven, agile environment.  In this role you will lead a talented QA team, partner with product development, and actively participate in both tactical and strategic conversations to determine the evolution of our products.

 

This role will focus on applications and products in the Marketplace A Zone - iterating on features that ensure couples, wedding planners and guests have a consistently excellent experience using The Knot Worldwide’s digital products to drive meaningful impact planning life’s unique milestones.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee QA Automation and manual test engineers, responsible for our planning and guest products. 
  • Ensure the team is operating effectively to reach their goals, are properly supported and deliver quality software.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor multiple engineers at various stages of their career to ensure growth and cultivate emerging leaders.
  • Provide leadership within the team to ensure solutions are built in alignment with company principles.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including pre-IPM, IPM, standups, and retros.
  • Actively participate in establishing the broader automation strategy that supports our company goals.
  • Partner with other Senior QA Engineers to set the vision and iterate on the automation roadmap to effectively cover all business critical areas.
  • Ensure that features are high-quality by building test strategies, writing and executing test plans, and communicating with the team about issues, risk, and product quality.
  • Leverage skills and experience to develop automated tests to ensure product quality.
  • Coordinate cross browser and manual regression testing when needed.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve the QA process.
  • Partner with Tech Leads and Product Managers to prioritize releases and determine quality metrics to meet OKRs.
  • Promote best practices surrounding TDD, continuous integration, code standards, etc.

SUCCESSFUL QA Managers must HAVE:

  • 7 or more years of QA experience with 3 or more years of management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Hands on experience writing automated tests for user interfaces and backend services.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience with Cypress or other modern UI test frameworks.
  • Experience using Node.js and JavaScript.
  • Experience with AWS/Kubernetes/Docker concepts and technology.
  • Experience designing and developing load tests to measure application performance.
  • Experience leading teams and projects in an Agile, TDD environment.
  • Familiarity with (as a plus):
    • REACT front-end framework.
    • Mobile testing (iOS and Android) with Appium or similar test framework..

The Knot is seeking a Financial Systems Technical Lead to join our growing Enterprise Systems team and to be responsible for maintaining and developing customizations within our current ERP (NetSuite) as well as contributing to our large scale Global transformation projects. This role will report up to Director, Financial Systems and will work closely with our key stakeholders and the rest of Enterprise Systems ensuring that our systems are stable, automated, and meet our global standards and requirements.

As the Financial Systems Technical Lead you will not only have a chance to work in a broad environment of integrated enterprise level financial applications but also help develop change management procedures and documentation that will put us on a path to meeting future compliance goals.

We are building a diverse and highly skilled Financial Systems team, and we believe this role will play a big part in its continued success and future development. This role will be the key technical resource for the Financial Systems team and be a contributing factor to the success of our team and our future initiatives.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with other members of the Financial Systems team to develop solutions that meet our global Accounting & Finance requirements.
  • Lead the Technical aspects of our Financial System projects.
  • Manage the ongoing maintenance of our current 3rd party customizations.
  • Maintain technical documentation to ensure that changes to our Finance Systems are being made in an auditable, visible manner that maintains system integrity.
  • Collaborate with Financial System leads to determine solution architecture and design that may best fit stakeholder requirements.
  • Keep up to date on upcoming changes in Netsuite and other Enterprise Systems, how they affect our implementation, and how they can be leveraged going forward.
  • Work with Enterprise QA teams to deliver fully tested solutions to be released.
  • Identify legacy scripts and workflows that can be adapted or deprecated as we move forward with system transformation initiatives.
  • Be a driving force in standardizing TKWW Financial Systems development processes.
  • Work within the collaborative global Financial Systems department framework assisting in our team meeting our long term goals.

 

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • 4-5 years of experience working with NetSuite specifically SuiteScript, SuiteTalk, and Workflows.
  • A deep understanding of how Suitelets, RESTLets and Map/Reduce scripts are utilized within NetSuite.
  • 4-5 years of SQL experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with finance teams, technical teams, and system users at all levels in the organization.
  • A detailed understanding of various integration platforms for moving data between enterprise systems, such as ETL tools (Dell Boomi) or fully custom integrations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, an analytical mind and strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to relay technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience working within industry standard development processes to deploy changes in a structured, auditable method that allows for rollbacks and precise tracking of exactly what is changing.
  • Experience creating enterprise level technical documentation
