ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP:

We are excited to welcome a new group of interns in the Summer of 2022! Beginning in June, this 9-week paid internship will be fully remote and will include roles from all of our departments (sales, tech & product, marketing, legal, finance & accounting, and HR). Information Security Analyst

Information security analysts are responsible for day to day operation activities and improving the overall security posture of the organization. They evaluate, test and document security solutions and controls, and work closely with other security team members to remediate risk while ensuring the business can innovate.

 

Information security analysts must continually adapt to stay a step ahead of cyber attackers and stay up to date on the latest methods attackers use to infiltrate computer systems. Analysts in this role are expected to consistently learn and grow. This is not a passive career opportunity, but rather one that requires a passion for security and rigor to protect the business.

 

Information security analysts collaborate with internal and external audit and third party services teams, along with technology management and business stakeholders.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with co-managed SIEM provider to investigate and analyze security events.

  • Assist with security configuration standards for systems and business applications.

We’re seeking a talented and driven Lead Engineer  to join The Knot Invitations team. This is an exciting new line of business for The Knot Worldwide and we are making significant investments in our offering. The products you will be working on help couples find and customize wedding invitations that inspire and delight. Our tools power our paper offerings across multiple brands and are integral to solving user pain points and meeting business goals. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for managing a team of talented engineers while working closely with Product and Design Leads to collaborate and iterate on product features. Our Product and Engineering teams work closely together at every phase of product development from research and inception to release and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a talented team of full-stack engineers developing a suite of tools that couples use to find, customize, and purchase their wedding invitations.
  • Help migrate the existing Invitations platform onto a modern tech stack (Node/React) and a new ecommerce solution.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to all members of the team, helping to develop novel solutions to architectural and implementation challenges.
  • Establish and advocate for coding best practices on the team, and stay up-to-date on new technologies and industry standards.

  • Collaborate and pair with other engineers on the team as well as product managers, designers and QA engineers to deliver well tested, high quality code.

SUCCESSFUL SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INTERN CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Pursuing an education in software engineering or computer science.
  • Experience with Javascript, Node or React a plus.
  • Familiarity with some database or search technology (we use PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Elasticsearch)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Eager to learn new software engineering practices and technologies.
  • You seek out and apply constructive feedback with a growth mindset.
