ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

As a member of our digital editorial team, the Assistant Fashion Commerce Editor will be responsible for ideating, writing and producing shoppable fashion content to engage, educate and inspire The Knot Worldwide’s consumer audience during life’s major milestones. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented assistant fashion commerce editor who is comfortable writing and producing shoppable fashion content that will perform across several marketing channels, with an interest in wedding fashion, beauty and jewelry. We’re looking for an assistant editor who will think strategically about how fashion content can drive conversions for our owned and operated fashion experience as well as third-party partners, in addition to elevating our brand image in the wedding fashion space. An interest in fashion content, awareness of wedding fashion trends, extreme attention to detail, a strong work ethic, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, a passion for learning new skills, and a positive attitude are all necessities. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • You are responsible for The Knot’s fashion commerce editorial content, working alongside the editorial brand and editorial strategy teams to determine assignment priority and perspective, ensuring it is aligned with our editorial brand and in service of our team goals
  • Write and produce daily shoppable fashion content for our editorial platforms
  • Execute on strategy for larger content initiatives within fashion commerce, including Bridal Fashion Week, Cyber/Holiday, Wedding Season and other tentpoles
  • Work directly with our Editorial Commerce and Rev Ops teams to align on affiliate strategy
  • Conduct photo research and produce images for publishing as needed
  • Stay current on wedding, shopping and media industries

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills; 1-2 years professional experience writing for an online brand or digital publication
  • A passion for fashion, online shopping and familiarity with major online retailers
  • Experience working in a team, as well as experience collaborating cross-functionally with other teams on projects and initiatives 
  • An extreme attention to detail 
  • Strong commitment to hitting deadlines, accuracy and professionalism
  • An understanding of basic SEO best practices and keyword targeting; experience writing search-optimized copy is a big plus

A key pillar in our growth strategy is expanding our award winning written content expertise to the video and entertainment film categories. We are looking for a seasoned veteran in the Editorial & Branded Content space to lead our future success as the Head of Global Editorial Content.

This talented leader will own the vision, operations and performance strategy for TKWW’s multi-disciplined content ecosystem. This leader should be a business growth driver first and a storyteller second, and have the proven experience to lead our Editorial Department into the future world of content. This leader will be a key member of the Marketing Leadership team, reporting into the Vice President of Global Consumer Marketing. Success will be measured around growing our audience reach across platforms, expanding our brand relevance and commercial revenue & profitability.

This leader will partner with a highly cross-functional team to develop the right content strategy to deliver the business goals, including but not limited to: Media Sales, Product, SEO, eCommerce and Vendor Marketplace teams. This position requires strong leadership, a business growth mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for amazing thought provoking content.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the Editorial Department (100+) across Video, Print, Digital, and all Global territories.
  • Inspire and lead a diverse team of Editors, Video Programmers, and Strategists to serve our audience content needs and represent The Knot Worldwide to all internal and external stakeholders including press & advertisers.
  • Set and communicate the vision for Editorial Content  for The Knot Worldwide across channels, content types, and global regions both internally and externally.
  • Set the vision for the future of weddings & parenthood across a diverse audience perspective and ensure our content reflects the authentic experiences and needs of our global audiences.
  • Develop repeatable, scalable, and data-first strategies and processes to engage users and increase readership, viewership & subscribership for all content verticals.
  • Advocate for our audiences (couples, vendors, guests, viewers) by consistently researching and innovating our offerings to serve the ways people consume content
  • Act as a key stakeholder cross-functionally to ensure content is a priority and thought leader center of excellence across the wider TKWW ecosystem.
  • Ensure success and be accountable to all content performance metrics and KPI by platform.
  • Ensure operational excellence in content storytelling, content strategy, production operations, & departmental productivity, in order to maximize our audience reach (traffic opportunities) and revenue capacity across channels.
  • Lead the scaling of our video distribution strategy and business development partnerships with production companies, networks, and streaming partners.
  • Oversee our global content strategy to maximize our SEO opportunity and global SERP footprint, competitive landscape and diverse user needs states finding global synergies & exploiting our Editorial scale.
  • Lead the evaluation, scoping and acquisition strategy for content franchises, content brands, talent relationships and studio partnerships.
  • Inform and influence key decisions around Editorial policy, FTC governance, and affiliate commission strategy to maintain journalistic integrity and increase consumer confidence.
  • In partnership with cross-functional partners influence the product experience for content ensuring our roadmap adheres to user needs, modernizes our brand experience, and delivers on revenue expectations.
  • Ownership of all departmental P&L decisions in line with marketing and business priorities.

SUCCESSFUL HEAD OF GLOBAL EDITORIAL CONTENT CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 10-15+ years of relevant Editorial, Content, Marketing experience 
  • 5-7+ years of management experience 
  • Impeccable Communication Skills: Demonstrate effective communication skills to cascade and disseminate complex information with clarity, ease of comprehension and that inspire allegiance.
  • Subject matter expertise in the wedding industry is desired but not required.
  • Subject matter familiarity in SEO and with SEO tools, able to communicate effectively with SEO teams, product and executive leadership on an SEO strategy is required.
  • Deep understanding & familiarity with ecommerce content strategies and able to successfully advocate and inspire innovation in our eCommerce business lines.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset- sees a void and maximizes an opportunity to bring new ideas to the table
  • Firm when presenting creative ideas with a confident presentation of concepts internally and externally
  • Able to share the credit across a team working towards the goal of growing revenue and creative excellence
  • A firm understanding of how content is successful across different video platforms (O&O, Youtube, OTT,  Social, etc..)

The Knot is looking for a Sr. Relationships & Sex Editor to join its robust and dynamic team of digital and print-integrated editors. This role will shape the dialogue and discourse around all things relationships and sex during the dating, engaged and married journeys.

This editor will report to the Deputy Editor, working closely alongside fellow features teammates to break newsworthy commentary in the space. He/She/They will work closely with the content strategist and other writers. The editor will also work closely with the visuals department to depict key storytelling opportunities with a user-first mindset, thoughtfully approaching all aspects of packaging by bringing themes and concepts to life. 

The Sr. Relationships & Sex Editor will be responsible for ideating, writing and producing content across broader thought leadership packages, topically unpacking relationship and sex content. The Sr. Relationships & Sex editor will be responsible for hiring freelance writers to employ and deploy content related to love, sexual wellness, singlehood, the dating journey, engagement dynamics, marriage, and general relationships. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Pitch, write and produce daily and longer lead pieces across print and digital platforms. 

- Appear in press and video as the sex & relationships expert. 

- Support department initiatives pertaining to exclusives and franchise opportunities. 

- Assist in junior editor development through feedback, editing and mentorship

- Top edit and provide feedback to junior editors or freelance writers.

- Oversee execution of content packages and campaigns.

- Possibility of people management (i.e. onboarding and hiring 1-2 direct reports, as needed)

- Seek opportunities to work with external industry professionals and build sustained relationships; successful outcomes include speaking engagements, exclusives, assets for spreads and features, etc.

- Ownership of content series and campaigns, serving as the editorial DRI in cross-departmental initiatives.

- Serve as subject matter expert in sex and relationships topics, taking ownership as the relationships lead and content authority.

​​TKWW’s approach to the future of work: At the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, TKWW pivoted all global employees to remote work while prioritizing physical and mental wellbeing. While the majority of our global offices are open and available at this time, all TKWW employees have the ability to work remotely full time through the length of 2022. Upon entering our “new normal”, TKWW will pilot a hybrid work model where employees will have additional flexibility. (Note: employees who were hired into remote positions will continue to work fully remotely.)
