ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

The detail-oriented and collaborative Content Strategist will help craft our digital editorial strategy by managing the strategic direction and business impact of several of our content verticals, like Travel, Planning, Celebrity and Relationships. You will bring a strong understanding of the digital editorial landscape, an SEO perspective anchored to monitoring strategy success over time, and a solutions-oriented mindset to ensure each article we publish is in service of our team’s goals and our users. You enjoy thinking about “the why” behind decisions, and can clearly articulate your point of view or illustrate your thinking when needed. You will work closely alongside other editors, content strategists and marketers and report to the Associate Director of Content Strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You are responsible for managing the content strategy for multiple content verticals for our US wedding brands, creating content strategy outlines (including conducting keyword research and SERP analysis) for digital editorial assignments, and identifying assignment opportunities in order to drive traffic and achieve other team goals
  • You execute content audits and opportunity analyses of existing editorial content and summarize findings to enable action and content prioritization
  • You provide feedback to editors and fellow strategists in collaboration on specific assignments or initiatives; assist with onboarding and training of junior hires to ensure content quality and efficacy
  • You design and provide actionable reporting to editors and stakeholders; analyze traffic, content metrics and conversion data to summarize findings, share key takeaways and enable team leaders to make strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with editors, SEO analysts, other strategists and team members regularly on content opportunities and ideas

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a digital editorial or audience development role
  • Strong understanding of user behavior, user intent and SEO content best practices; experience using SEO tools such as SEMrush, AdWords and Google Trends 
  • Experience using analytics tools like Parse.ly and Google Analytics to pull reports and leverage data to make decisions
  • Firm grasp of digital editorial best practices and workflows, including basic HTML, CMS experience, digital writing, editorial integrity/ethics and more
  • Knowledgeable about digital content business and monetization models; experience leveraging digital editorial content to achieve business goals
  • Extreme attention to detail, commitment to accuracy
  • Comfortable working independently and able to make confident decisions, while able to collaborate with team members and be open to other perspectives
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to communicate asks clearly, advocate for your point of view, as well as effectively present in meetings and relay key information

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

As a member of our Editorial team, the Editorial Project Manager is responsible for establishing the PMO function for our editorial content studio. This leader will manage the overall workflow of our talented and dynamic editorial team to maximize productivity and success, ensuring all editorial products are launched across digital, print and video. These responsibilities will include the tracking of program objectives and outcomes, project performance against scope, timelines, and cost, ensuring we use consistent tools and methodologies in managing projects, and delivering coordinated project management support. The individual will also liaison between the editors, production partners, business partners, marketing channel owners and sales organizations. They will identify and manage the major project achievements. This requires the individual to actively seek out material issues impacting the project and quickly resolve the problems to ensure timelines and functionality expectations are met. A high level of independence as demonstrated through clear problem-solving skills is needed to be successful in this role. This person will bring a problem-solving spirit, extreme attention to detail, and conesus-building mindset to our team to build out new editorial processes and optimize existing work streams. This person will work closely alongside editors, editorial leaders, and cross-departmental stakeholders (B2B, B2C, social, PR and other marketers) and report to the Director of Editorial Strategy & Operations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Stand up an editorial project management system and workstream in order to improve departmental efficiencies, optimize existing processes and provide stakeholder visibility; communicate said system and workstream with editors and stakeholders, onboarding the power users and owning operational success
  • Ensure content production timelines, productivity, and quality are delivered against scope, timelines and cost. 
  • Track and provide visibility to leadership teams on Editorial Dept. program objectives and outcomes. 
  • Manage the editorial assignment funnel, including content calendars and roadmaps, ensuring deadlines are met and the team is delivering on expectations
  • Align the digital, print and video projects, priorities and work streams into one singular view for maximum efficiency, visibility and to enable prioritization
  • Work with Editorial Operations team on workflow analysis including strategizing on how to operate more efficiently, streamline workflow and retain quality
  • Develop high quality communications and presentations on the vision and execution plan for stakeholder visibility, alignment and direction
  • Seamlessly partner with cross–functional teams to ensure end to end delivery of programs and portfolio success

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience within a communication, editorial, publishing or creative setting
  • Project Management Certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience navigating transformations, comfortable operating in the unknown
  • Experience with project management systems and comfortable anchoring oneself to new systems and processes
  • An understanding of editorial and digital content, marketing metrics, and terminology
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and voice feedback to internal and cross-departmental stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the timelines associated with completing creative across design, video, photo, and copy
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience with Google Suite, including Sheets, Docs, & Presentation
  • Experience with CMS and content creation workflow a plus

WeddingWire India is currently on the lookout for a Sr Associate - Editorial, who can write compelling research-based blogs. In this role, the Editor will explore SEO content strategies & interview-driven articles for the brand’s blogs section and will also participate in content strategy planning for any brand campaign/project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and write engaging and informative SEO content for WeddingWire.in’s blogs and contribute to organic traffic growth. 
  • Work closely with the Lead Editor on new trend-based articles, expert interviews, B2B content & more. 
  • Work alongside the creatives & Social media team and brainstorm blog/campaign ideas for the year’s calendar. 
  • Work alongside the SEO team to create original content with careful keyword integration, and apt backlinking techniques. 
  • Attend lifestyle & wedding events, coordinate with PRs for exclusive stories and explore new editorial opportunities.
  • Explore new content project roles for marketplace/B2B or Social media requirements.

SUCCESSFUL EDITORIAL CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Min 3-4 years in an editorial role. 
  • Good creative writing and communications skills.
  • Prior experience in SEO content writing is a must.
  • Passionate about presenting creative concepts & fun blog series.
  • BA/MA  in English, Arts, Journalism, or Mass Communications with a strong academic record
  • Excellent grasp of the English language and a keen eye for detail 
  • Good research and fact check skills
  • Google Slides/ Sheets experience is preferred
