ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

As a member of our digital editorial team, the Associate Editor, Performance Content will be responsible for ideating, writing and producing shoppable content to engage, educate and inspire The Knot Worldwide’s consumer audience during life’s major milestones. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented editor who is comfortable writing and producing content that will perform across several marketing channels, with a particular emphasis on SEO. We’re looking for someone who will think strategically about how editorial content can drive conversions for our owned and operated e-commerce products as well as third-party partners. A strong work ethic, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, a passion for learning new skills and a positive attitude are all necessities. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Pitch, write and produce 3-4 SEO-driven articles a week that focus on driving conversions for our US wedding brands, The Knot and WeddingWire
  • Work cross-departmentally to support campaigns and initiatives with editorial content that drives to internal products, such as Registry and Invitations
  • Assist with content performance reporting such as monitoring traffic, SEO position ranking and conversion metrics that help our team glean insight and apply learnings to future content strategy 
  • Conduct extensive keyword research to track performance of existing content as well as identify new content opportunities 
  • Audit existing content to identify monetization opportunities and further enhance article conversion 
  • Provide support for major shopping events such as Black Friday; assist in coordinating strategy across marketing channels (social, email, paid)
  • Conduct photo research and produce images for publishing
  • Stay current on wedding, lifestyle and media industries

 

SUCCESSFUL ASSOCIATE EDITOR CANDIDATES HAVE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field. Background in affiliate, e-commerce or consumer products a plus
  • At least 2-3 years professional work experience in a job focused on writing, editing or content marketing 
  • Exceptional writing skills; 2-3 years professional experience writing for an online brand or digital publication
  • Hands-on experience creating SEO content as well as an understanding of basic SEO best practices and keyword targeting
  • Experience working in a team, as well as experience collaborating cross-functionally with other teams on projects and initiatives 
  • An extreme attention to detail 
  • Strong commitment to hitting deadlines, accuracy and professionalism
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Creativity with a wealth of fun and new ideas
  • An understanding of how different media consumption channels impact and inform content output
  • Experience working within a CMS 
  • Experience with Parse.ly, Skimlinks, Google Analytics and/or other analytic tools a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop or other photo editing platforms
  • A good eye for design, style and trends

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Bump seeks a talented, creative and enthusiastic Visuals Editor to join our team. You're a match if you are resourceful, have a strong work ethic, are able to juggle many projects at once in a fast-paced environment. This individual should be comfortable working both independently and within a team identifying what works visually in the digital baby and parenting industry. You will report directly to the Executive Editor and work closely with the editorial team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently photo edit and research images for news articles, ecommerce, SEO and evergreen content
  • Update outdated images, aid in social image selection (instagram, pinterest, facebook, twitter and tiktok)
  • Work closely with the product team to understand and adhere to brand identity
  • Collaborate with editorial team on story development and visual concepts
  • Maintain image library, product images and other design assets
  • Manage stock photography accounts and ensure proper usage of images
  • Knowledgeable of contracts, usage rights, photo licensing and copyright laws
  • Assist with maintaining budget for photos and shoots; produce shoots as needed
  • Maintain a list of and relationship with photographers and illustrators 
  • Liaise with the video team and social team

SUCCESSFUL VISUALS EDITOR CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Minimum of 5 years editorial or photo experience. Experience and contacts in the baby and parenting industry a plus 
  • Savvy to source images from stock, PR contacts, photographers, and other user-generated sources
  • Well-versed in social media platforms and tools
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite and Google Docs; willingness to adapt to evolving applications (such as Slack and other social hosting services) 
  • Understanding of metadata strategy with archival best practices
  • Highly organized, driven and assertive with an engaging and positive manner
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment
