We are looking for a person to join our Finance Department in Sant Cugat (Spain) as an Accountant to support and assist with the management of accounting procedures in our international subsidiaries, in particular, the Italian one. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional (like you!) to play a key role in providing accurate, valuable information to support the Management team. You will drive informed financial decision making, prepare and maintain reports and assist various levels of leadership with finance team procedures. You will report to the Senior Accountant and work closely with various members of the finance and leadership teams.

Our ideal candidate should have a few years of previous experience in accounting and administration in multinational or international companies, but above all a great desire to get involved and grow with us!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with accounting month-end close procedures, including monthly reconciliations of all balance sheets and income statement accounts, and the maintenance of general ledger charts of accounts for different international branches.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, audit packages and journal entries with referenced supporting documentation while maintaining and monitoring the Company’s transactional activity, analyze and research accounts to ensure accuracy and to understand account balances and activity.
  • Interacting with various levels of staff across accounting, legal and more, to obtain information, resolve issues and provide support on special projects, as needed.
  • Supporting and preparing reports and materials needed by accountants and tax preparers.
  • Coordinating the auditing process of our italian subsidiary.
  • Liaising with advisors, auditors, banks and other international providers.

SUCCESSFUL ACCOUNTANT CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • An Economic background, diploma in Accounting or degree in Business Administration and/or Finance.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, Italian will be an advantage.
  • Experience of at least 4 years in a similar role in an international company.
  • Demonstrable experience with general ledgers and reconciliations, financial statement areas, and advanced skills with the MS Office Suite, specifically Excel.
  • Knowledge of ERP for Accounting Management such as NetSuite, Navision, SAP or similar.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills and are self-motivated, have initiative and take pride in thoughtful work.
  • Organized and excellent project management skills and enthusiasm to get things done.
  • Ease in collaborating with all levels of management.

This person should be well-rounded and willing to jump in to get the job done wherever needed. The role will entail working on Financial planning, managing accounts for the company and looking at the taxation policies and staying compliant. Overall he/she will also be responsible for accounts, costing, GST, finance & audits of the unit and handling the finance work at the unit level.The person will work with the Shared Services team for his/her scope of work.

 

The job role will comprise of the following in a detailed manner:

 

Senior Accountant 

o Minimum Experience: At least 3 years of experience within public accounting.

o Minimum Education: BS or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or related fields. An advanced degree or certification such as Chartered Accountant is highly desirable.

General Responsibilities

In providing General Accounting Support, the position requires comprehensive financial, operational, and system-related capabilities rooted in a knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Standards. In addition, the qualified candidate should have experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Auditing, Purchasing, Payroll Transaction Processing, Internal Controls, Information Systems Auditing, Financial Systems Operations, and Data Analytics. The qualified candidate should have the ability to provide support in the following areas:

  • Account Reconciliation – This area includes, but is not limited to, reconciling subsidiary and general ledger accounts, as well as revenue, cash collection and billing reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, and Payroll Processing
  • Support timely and accurate completion of all required reports to other offices (mainly US)
  • Support of procurement operations and payments inbox as well as invoice processing.
  • Provide operations support, ensuring compliance with applicable rules, laws and regulations.
  • Support efforts in preparing for and meeting the requirements of the annual external financial statement audit.
