ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

We are excited to welcome a new group of interns in the Summer of 2022! Beginning in June, this 9-week paid internship will be fully remote and will include roles from all of our departments (sales, tech & product, marketing, legal, finance & accounting, and HR). While each internship will include different projects, all of our interns will have an opportunity to network together, participate in fireside chats with senior leaders, and participate in programming designed especially for you. Part-time and full-time roles are available.

ACCOUNTING & FINANCE INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop sound financial analysis and recommendations for a multi-week business case, ending with a final presentation to senior management
  • Gain an understanding of various functional areas within Accounting and Finance
  • Assist with month-end close procedures, including monthly reconciliations
  • Assist in maintaining general ledger chart of accounts
  • Data entry using various finance and accounting systems
  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports, as needed
  • Assist with the preparation of variance analyses of actuals to forecasts
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve issues surrounding planned spend vs forecast

SUCCESSFUL ACCOUNTING & FINANCE INTERN CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Pursuing B.S in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong motivation, initiative, and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Proactive with the ability to work cross-functionally in order to resolve questions/issues
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

The Corporate Strategy team works closely with product and business leaders to tackle high-priority challenges and drive growth across the organization. We are seeking a Director, Strategic & Transformation Initiatives to help oversee cross-functional teams in managing a variety of key strategic and transformation initiatives for TKWW including annual strategic planning, M&A due diligence and integrations, and strategic partnership implementations.

 

Ideal candidates will have exceptional project management skills, high EQ and experience working successfully with cross-functional or matrixed teams. This is a primarily project based role best suited for individuals that enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, environment with executive and Board exposure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead cross-functional project management of key strategic initiatives, including 
    • Annual strategic planning
    • M&A due diligence and Integrations
    • Strategic partnership implementations
  • Develop and maintain project charter and integrated project plans, including identification of resource needs, key risks, and dependencies
  • Measure and report on project progress against key milestones to ensure timely and successful execution
  • Support M&A due diligence, integration planning and execution, in partnership with senior leadership, corporate strategy and cross-functional teams
  • Maintain corporate strategy roadmap, OKRs and M&A playbook

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

Are you looking for a unique employee experience or an internship where you can build, grow, learn and have fun? The Knot Worldwide is in search of a temporary administrator to support the accounting team. You will assist the accounting and legal department with various tasks and projects. The administrator will help the accounting team meet monthly close deadlines and assist in accounting projects. Moreover, support the legal team with administrative tasks. The duration of the project will be 6 months.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data entry relating to various accounting and legal projects
  • Assist with month end close procedures, including monthly reconciliations
  • Provide support on special projects, as needed and assigned
  • Process vendor invoices and payments
  • Assist in maintaining general ledger chart of accounts
  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial reports as needed
  • Interact with various levels of staff to obtain information and/or resolve issues for assigned tasks, accounts and/or legal entities
  • Management of documentation involving notaries, tax authorities and banks
  • Proof reading of documents to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Ad hoc projects

 

SUCCESSFUL ACCOUNTING CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Excel Required.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist TKWW’s Global Accounting Team efforts to become Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliant
  • Assist with SOX scoping activities and company-wide and business process specific risk assessments to evaluate and address any impact the results may have on the control environment
  • Assist in the design and implementation of efficient and effective controls in all key business process areas for the consolidated entity and its global in-scope subsidiaries 
  • Document processes using flowcharts, narratives, and risk and controls matrices
  • Collaborate with business process owners on the implementation of SOX controls, including process redesign, policies, procedures, documentation, evidence evaluation and system enhancements
  • Conduct operating effectiveness testing for all key business process areas for the consolidated entity and its global in-scope subsidiaries 
  • Conduct periodic meetings/walkthroughs with process owners to ensure any changes to processes are updated and properly assessed for control gaps
  • Support remediation efforts and process enhancements with the control owners
  • Support financial statement and compliance audits and interact with external auditors
  • Identify system enhancements and create efficiencies in all accounting and financial reporting functions and work with ITGC (IT general controls) Sox compliance leads to implement them into TKWW Enterprise systems 
  • Identify opportunities to automate financial function and analysis performed outside of core systems
  • Provide creative input that will drive greater efficiency and value to the internal control process
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships across the business and particularly with key stakeholders
  • Assist with special assignments as determined by management 
  • Keep up to date on industry and business trends significant to the profession and to TKWW
  • Demonstrate strong track record of providing services related to controls around financial reporting, compliance and operational processes, including business process, which includes a record of success with facilitating and completing deliverables involving the following:
    • Understanding financial reporting and IT risks, processes and controls; 
    • Understanding COSO Framework;
    • Understanding key risks and controls, knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) readiness, controls optimization;
    • Exhibiting project management skills, including developing project plans, and deliverables schedules
    • Managing day-to-day project operations, including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project economics management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues; and
    • Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks and communicating status and potential control deficiencies to the Senior Manager, Global Internal Controls.
