ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

WeddingWire.in is looking for a smart, results-oriented Accountant to support us with our India business. This person should be well-rounded and willing to jump in to get the job done wherever needed. The role will entail working on Financial planning, managing accounts for the company and looking at the taxation policies and staying compliant. Overall he/she will also be responsible for accounts, costing, GST, finance & audits of the unit and handling the finance work at the unit level.The person will work with the Shared Services team for his/her scope of work.

 

The job role will comprise of the following in a detailed manner:

 

Senior Accountant 

o Minimum Experience: At least 3 years of experience within public accounting.

o Minimum Education: BS or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or related fields. An advanced degree or certification such as Chartered Accountant is highly desirable.

General Responsibilities

In providing General Accounting Support, the position requires comprehensive financial, operational, and system-related capabilities rooted in a knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Standards. In addition, the qualified candidate should have experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Auditing, Purchasing, Payroll Transaction Processing, Internal Controls, Information Systems Auditing, Financial Systems Operations, and Data Analytics. The qualified candidate should have the ability to provide support in the following areas:

  • Account Reconciliation – This area includes, but is not limited to, reconciling subsidiary and general ledger accounts, as well as revenue, cash collection and billing reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, and Payroll Processing
  • Support timely and accurate completion of all required reports to other offices (mainly US)
  • Support of procurement operations and payments inbox as well as invoice processing.
  • Provide operations support, ensuring compliance with applicable rules, laws and regulations.
  • Support efforts in preparing for and meeting the requirements of the annual external financial statement audit.
  • Support travel card operations and travel activities and audits and other employee reimbursement and expense items.
  • Other tasks as needed

This position sits on the Corporate Strategy Team, which works closely with product and business leaders to tackle high-priority challenges and drive growth across the organization. We are seeking an exceptional candidate who can help drive M&A and strategic partnership opportunities. You will help cross-functional partners achieve their goals, working to share knowledge, frame/synthesize opportunities, and drive people towards a common goal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive end-to-end M&A and strategic partnership processes, including identifying the highest priority areas for The Knot Worldwide to pursue M&A + partnerships, sourcing opportunities, performing due diligence, negotiating deal terms and legal contracts, and developing integration plans. 
  • Develop recommendations based on a strong understanding of our cross functional company priorities, core competencies, and end user behavior/preferences.  
  • Leverage clear decision-making frameworks to help weigh trade-offs between various possible scenarios (i.e. acquire, partner, build)
  • Deliver recommendations to senior team members and other stakeholders that shape company and product strategy by coordinating market research and synthesizing findings.
  • Foster relationships with industry players, startups, and investors to be at the forefront of new developments and opportunities, and to maintain TKWW’s reputation as a partner and acquirer of choice.
  • Develop unique perspectives on key competitors, assess The Knot Worldwide’s relative strengths and weaknesses, and communicate the implications for our business.
  • Cultivate relationships with leaders across The Knot Worldwide in various business engines and support functions.

SUCCESSFUL DIRECTOR, CORPORATE & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 5-7+ years experience at a top-tier company with direct deal experience. For example: Investment Banking, Private Equity, Venture Capital; or Corporate + Business Development / Strategic Partnerships at a high growth company 
  • Significant M&A expertise and some strategic partnerships experience
  • Experience leading transactions and partnerships from start to finish autonomously, working closely with cross-functional internal teams, external counterparts, and consultants/advisors.
  • Exceptional analytical and modeling skills.
  • Strong business acumen and good judgment/intuition.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills coupled with a strong work ethic and low ego. Willing to tackle the smallest or largest tasks to get things done and drive outcomes.
  • Influential meeting presence and high emotional intelligence.  Naturally collaborative and partner-oriented, you are able build relationships and to rally a cross functional team (that does not report into you) around a shared vision
  • Highly organized and self-motivated. Able to juggle a high-volume high-priority workload with autonomy

IT'S A BONUS IF:

  • You have a Quantitative Bachelor degree – EMBA or MBA preferred
  • You have experience in the D2C consumer internet space
