ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

WeddingWire.in is looking for a smart, results-oriented Accountant to support us with our India business. This person should be well-rounded and willing to jump in to get the job done wherever needed. The role will entail working on Financial planning, managing accounts for the company and looking at the taxation policies and staying compliant. Overall he/she will also be responsible for accounts, costing, GST, finance & audits of the unit and handling the finance work at the unit level.The person will work with the Shared Services team for his/her scope of work.

 

The job role will comprise of the following in a detailed manner:

 

Senior Accountant 

o Minimum Experience: At least 3 years of experience within public accounting.

o Minimum Education: BS or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or related fields. An advanced degree or certification such as Chartered Accountant is highly desirable.

General Responsibilities

In providing General Accounting Support, the position requires comprehensive financial, operational, and system-related capabilities rooted in a knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Standards. In addition, the qualified candidate should have experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Auditing, Purchasing, Payroll Transaction Processing, Internal Controls, Information Systems Auditing, Financial Systems Operations, and Data Analytics. The qualified candidate should have the ability to provide support in the following areas:

  • Account Reconciliation – This area includes, but is not limited to, reconciling subsidiary and general ledger accounts, as well as revenue, cash collection and billing reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, and Payroll Processing
  • Support timely and accurate completion of all required reports to other offices (mainly US)
  • Support of procurement operations and payments inbox as well as invoice processing.
  • Provide operations support, ensuring compliance with applicable rules, laws and regulations.
  • Support efforts in preparing for and meeting the requirements of the annual external financial statement audit.
  • Support travel card operations and travel activities and audits and other employee reimbursement and expense items.
  • Other tasks as needed

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:  

As Senior Manager of Financial Reporting, you will be a key member of The Knot Worldwide’s Global Accounting Team. Reporting to the Global Controller, you will be the direct contact for all internal and external reporting needs.  You will have significant interactions with legal, financial systems, finance, tax, HR and corporate development teams. 

You will be responsible for the preparation of TKWW’s monthly and quarterly consolidated reporting packages for internal stakeholders including executive leadership, in addition to external reporting packages for debt holders and the Board of Directors.  You will assist in debt compliance reporting as applicable.  Additionally, you will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of supporting documentation for our quarterly reviews and our annual consolidated audits.  Globally, you will work with our international accounting teams to ensure compliance with all international reporting statutory deadlines and ensure that the consolidated audit timeline is adhered to in order to meet reporting deadlines.   

As Senior Manager of Financial Reporting you will participate in other ad-hoc procedures such as performing technical accounting research and drafting related accounting memos. You may also support monthly close, SOX compliance, M&A activities, or other special projects, as needed. TKWW is seeking an individual who is eager to learn, grow and take on new (and/or temporary) challenges as we also grow. We are looking for someone who is flexible, has a solid accounting and technical foundation and aptitude, is detail-oriented, and has a desire to dive-in and roll-up their sleeves to gain an understanding over the company, the industry in which the company operates in, and what the financial results, financial trends, and key financial and investor metrics mean.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize, draft and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual documents similar to a 10Q and 10K including consolidated financial statements, financial statement footnotes and MD&A using financial schedules prepared by other functional groups and disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other regulations.
  • Participate in the analysis of financial and operational data to develop commentary to be used in Management’s Discussion and Analysis as well as any communications to stakeholders
  • Proactively work with business partners to manage and maintain an updated calendar of all internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of all financial reports to internal and external stakeholders, including maintenance of adequate supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Company's external auditors to communicate financial reporting issues during the quarter and year end periods.
  • Work with other departments, including senior management, to develop reports that present information in a clear and concise manner to answer specific questions, provide insight into company operations (within the accounting group as well as cross functionally – sales operations, sales, engineering and design) and enable decision making.
  • Review and approve financial package reports prepared by other functional groups, as applicable, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis group by utilizing financial reports/models of actual financial data used to prepare monthly forecasts and budgets.
  • Implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements 
  • Prepare internal monthly reporting package (including direct and indirect cash flow) and KPI package for internal circulation.     
  • Review all financial statements and reports of international subsidiaries and ensure all statutory reporting deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with the accounting team for input and understanding of fluctuation analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Support ad-hoc projects as requested including M&A initiatives and other special projects.
  • Own and understand all reporting requested by the accounting team (i.e. legal requests for insurance diligence).
  • Support the tax team on reporting needs and supporting documentation associated with the quarterly and annual tax provision and annual return.

SUCCESSFUL SR. MANAGER, FINANCIAL REPORTING CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • 8-10 years of related experience, of which 3+ years public accounting experience is preferred and 3+ years in a financial reporting role, SEC reporting experience is preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Netsuite preferred.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Excel
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Sheets and Slides.
  • Ability to work independently.  Detail-oriented and execution focused. 
  • Strong general accounting skills and thorough knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.   
  • Must be proactive, self-driven, and have the ability to resolve problems.
  • Strong ability to review, interpret, and explain financial data.
