ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional (like you!) to play a key role in providing accurate, valuable information to support the Management team. You will drive informed financial decision making, prepare and maintain reports and assist various levels of leadership with finance team procedures. You will report to the Controller and work closely with various members of the finance and leadership teams.  The Accounting Manager will assist in providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the controller in overseeing the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements.
  • Maintain and monitor a system of internal controls that will ensure the integrity of all systems, processes and data to provide accurate financial results.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new accounting processes.
  • Identify, research and resolve corporate accounting, auditing and operational issues.
  • Assist the controller in providing guidance to management with respect to accounting policies and technical accounting interpretations.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures and ensure the timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy of internal financial reporting to management.
  • Assist Controller with special projects, migrations and implementations, transactions, as needed.
  • Assist with financial audit preparation and responses including annual external audit, bank audits, 401(k) audit and other audits as required
  • Manage Senior and Staff Accountants.

SUCCESSFUL ACCOUNTING MANAGER CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Must have 3+ years of public accounting experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of Netsuite is a plus.
  • Must be proficient with other computer based accounting software and MS Office products.
  • 5 – 7 years of related experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional (like you!) to play a key role in providing accurate, valuable information to support the Management team. You will drive informed financial decision making, prepare and maintain reports and assist various levels of leadership with finance team procedures. You will report to the Senior Accountant and work closely with various members of the finance and leadership teams. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with accounting month-end close procedures, including monthly reconciliations of all balance sheets and income statement accounts, and the maintenance of general ledger chart of accounts
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, audit packages and journal entries with referenced supporting documentation and process vendor invoices and payments and employee expense reports (via Concur)
  • While maintaining contracts and vendor agreement databases, you analyze and research accounts to ensure accuracy and to understand account balances and activity
  • Interact with various levels of staff across accounting, legal and more, to obtain information, resolve issues and provide support on special projects, as needed

SUCCESSFUL STAFF ACCOUNTANT CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • A B.S. in Accounting and are a CPA (or are working towards a CPA)
  • Demonstrative experience in general ledger and accounts receivable and advance skills with the MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills and are self-motivated to take initiative and take pride in thoughtful work
  • The ability to work well in a high-growth work environment, where flexibility is key
  • Excitement to work in a fast paced environment and you thrive in variety
  • Organized and excellent project management skills and enthusiasm to get things done
  • Comfort collaborating with all levels of management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Corporate Strategy group works closely with product and business leaders to tackle high-priority challenges and accelerate growth across the organization through strategic projects, M&A, and partnerships. Our team is passionate about using data, analytics, and frameworks to drive company’s critical business decisions.

Based in the Washington, DC office, this Strategy and Business Development Analyst role will be responsible for supporting the Strategy, Business Development, and Corporate Development functions.  The analyst will provide a broad spectrum of critical support including deep-dive analyses, business modeling, research, and other ad hoc support wherever needed.

The successful candidate will be innovative, resourceful, a self-starter and team player, and passionate about the evolving world of technology and online marketplaces. The role will provide broad exposure to business and operational areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform research and high-level scenario analyses for strategic projects to inform and accelerate decision making
  • Assist with processing, analyzing, and synthesizing materials related to potential partnerships and acquisitions
  • Interface with internal stakeholders and external partners to collect and report on metrics related to strategic projects and partnerships
  • Execute on or assist with strategic pilots and initiatives across the portfolio of brands
  • Create reports and presentations for an executive audience

SUCCESSFUL STRATEGY & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ANALYST CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Investment banking or consulting background optional but preferred
  • Strong analytical mind and problem solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and oral
  • Driven and willing to go the extra mile
  • Efficient and organized with strong time management skills
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Some experience with data analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Birst
  • Ideally, conversational proficiency in at least one foreign language
