ABOUT THE REGISTRY TECHNICAL OPERATIONS ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Registry Technical Operations role provides a great opportunity for candidates seeking to leverage their combined business and technical skills. We are looking for a savvy, organized, analytical, and helpful person with experience in Affiliate Marketing technology, API/ETL data processing, and general IT or web-platform best practices. The Registry Technical Operations team combines expert communication strategy with deep operational knowledge to support continuous improvement and great quality between our retailer partners and our registry product systems. This position requires a strong technical mind with solid data experience to support the other members of the team.

This position in the Registry Operations department sits at the intersection of User Experience, Product Analytics and Data Intelligence. The Specialist is closely aligned to the Product organization, contributing to the practice of analytics-based decision making, driving the selection and adoption of new tools, and educating the Product and Design teams on their use. The position also works in close collaboration with the Data Science team to identify and cleanly capture the data required for our algorithms and analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with the technical teams of the largest retailers, including Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, Crate & Barrel, Macy’s, etc.
  • Consult on and support technical projects and ongoing changes related to current and prospective partners.
  • Monitor key data exchange and loading processes and scope enhancements to these processes
  • Test and configure attribution links and other customizable site elements.
  • Investigate, track, and resolve data and attribution outages, using ticketing systems

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Magazine seeks a talented, creative and enthusiastic Photo Editor to join our team.  You're a match if you are resourceful, have a strong work ethic, are able to juggle a large volume of projects in a fast-paced environment & work within tight deadlines. This individual should be comfortable working independently and in a team identifying what works visually in the print and wedding industry. You will report directly to the Art Director and work closely with the art and editorial teams. This position is an in-office role based our of our NYC office; no remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently photo edit and research images for magazine production (original content articles and Real Weddings articles)
  • Work closely with the Real Weddings team to understand trends in wedding photography, style, and brand identity
  • Assist with fashion photo shoot production, model casting and administrative tasks
  • Produce and pick up styled shoots within quarterly magazine deadlines
  • Manage daily workflow of magazine files including tracking and releasing of hi-res images to production, as well as archival of final art
  • Contributes to other editorial department creative needs or projects, as needed
  • Collaborate with editorial team on story development and visual concepts
  • Responsible for caption and credit information in layouts

You would join two attorneys and one paralegal in our Chevy Chase office and also work with our senior attorneys in New York and Barcelona.  This person will be heavily involved with commercial contracts, corporate transactions, and corporate governance, but also work with the company’s business units, including Finance, HR, Marketing, Sales, Corporate Development, and Technology.  The ideal candidate will have an interest in technology companies and think like a businessperson with legal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiate client, vendor, partner, and technology agreements.

The Client Billing Specialist team works daily to resolve past due balances on active customer accounts.  Our goal is to collect money for the sales team and ensure customer’s billing accounts are up to date. This role works directly with business owners via phone and email across the country.  We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and we do what it takes to maintain our loyal client base while working to meet business needs.

Revenue Forecasting and Pipeline Management - monitor overall health of TKWW bookings and pipeline by:

  • Generating quarterly and annual forecasts vs. budget weekly using gross sales and revenue booked vs. prior years pacing
  • Completing ad hoc analysis on close rates and historic trends to quantify risk or growth opportunity inherent in current pipeline
  • Refreshing weekly pipeline and pacing reports to be reviewed by senior leadership and presented in our weekly sales meeting

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a talented and driven full-stack lead engineer to join and manage The Knot Planning Tools team.

The Knot is the nation’s leading wedding marketplace, providing our couples with a completely personalized experience that guides them through the entire wedding planning journey. The planning tools team is working on two exciting user facing initiatives:

  1. A suite of products helping users find, organize & share personalized wedding inspiration content across a variety of topics and ways to make it happen.
  2. An engine serving personalized content & pathing that helps guide users make timely wedding decisions.

 

The apps you will be working on will greet new users on their dashboard and will be integral to solving user pain points and business goals. You will be building tools with a broad set of features, which means that you will be constantly met with unique technical challenges at every layer of the stack.  We have ambitious experiment driven milestones but we also have a commitment to quality and new code is expected to be extensible, high performing, scalable and secure. What you build will make the wedding planning process more enjoyable and less stressful for millions of users.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a lead software engineer on the Planning Tools squad helping develop The Knot’s suite of tools that are used to plan, inspire and book couples’ weddings.
  • Manage a small team of team of engineers (two reports), helping them grow with mentorship and coaching.
  • Produce well-tested, maintainable code that stands up to 100,000 requests per day.
  • Participate in the Agile development process to help architect, build and ship new features.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to other engineers on the team.
  • Participate in the technical organization outside of our squad in making company wide architecture, data and front end pattern decisions.
  • Analyzes performance bottlenecks in Front End applications and Implement optimizations.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a software engineer building beautiful, scalable and high visibility web applications.
  • Ability to produce new front-end features using a Javascript framework or component library. Experience with React a plus
  • Experience working on the back end; We use Node and Postgres mostly (Ruby + Mongo might pop up sometimes), although strong experience with other languages and persistence layers is fine as well.
  • Experience with Bash and command line interfaces.  Experience with AWS a plus.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Lead Software Engineer (you!) will bring a wide range of professional expertise and knowledge to our global Product Development team as we create the very best wedding experience for couples, their guests and vendors--our small business customers. Our newly created Internal Tools team will be responsible for developing proprietary software that will be used by WeddingWire employees.  This team designs, builds and maintains high quality, scalable product deployments to backend systems and tools that are critical to internal team workflows.  This team will also oversee systems and third party integrations that are critical to our business-facing operations.  You will execute strategy surrounding code deployments and manage the foundation and framework for others to be effective throughout the release process,  You will participate in productive, results-driven business discussions and decision making.  The cherry on top, you will continue to advance personal skill set and domain knowledge while helping others progress through mentorship opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as part of our Internal Tools team to evaluate and execute designs and improvements to systems that power admin interfaces, sales, contract management systems, and billing integrations.  
  • Implement designs quickly and efficiently with minimal error, or delegate lower level tasks to more Junior developers when appropriate.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is looking to hire an experienced senior software engineer to join one of our most exciting, greenfield initiatives.  The right engineer will enjoy building scalable applications and amazing consumer experiences with an entrepreneurial mindset in a highly collaborative setting both with fellow engineers and also across disciplines to product and user experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage skills and experience to implement product features that are well architected, tested, and understandable.
  • Actively participate in the ideation and execution of product roadmap and Agile planning.
  • Promote best practices surrounding TDD, continuous integration, code standards, etc..
  • Provide mentorship to junior members of the team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years overall engineering experience.
  • 3+ years hands-on proven track record implementing JavaScript frontend applications.
  • 2+ years of experience using React.
  • Experience working in an Agile, TDD environment.
  • Experience with production Node.js solutions.
    • Experience with Hapi.js and/or Next.js is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS concepts and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Pair programming experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus.

ABOUT THE SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE AND THE PLANNING TOOLS TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a talented and driven full-stack engineer to join The Knot Planning Tools team.

The Knot is the nation’s leading wedding marketplace, providing our couples with a completely personalized experience that guides them through the entire wedding planning journey. The planning tools team develops our industry leading suite of planning tools, including the Checklist, Budgeter, Wedding Vision, Wedding Day Timeline, and Vendor Manager. We are focused on streamlining this suite of tools to meet couples where they are in their planning journey, and on finding new ways to surface wedding inspiration and advice where couples need it most.

The apps you will be working on greet new users on their dashboard and are integral to solving user pain points and business goals. We have ambitious, experiment-driven milestones but we also have a commitment to quality. New code at all levels of the stack is expected to be extensible, high performing, scalable, and secure. What you build will make the wedding planning process more enjoyable and less stressful for millions of users.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a senior engineer on the Planning Tools team helping develop The Knot’s suite of tools that couples use to inspire, plan, book, and manage their wedding.
  • Produce well-tested, maintainable code on the back-end and front-end that can stand up to 100,000 requests per day.
  • Collaborate in the Agile development process to help architect, build, and ship new products and features.
  • Be an advocate for coding best practices on the team, and stay up-to-date on new technologies and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to other engineers on the team, and act as a mentor to more junior teammates.
  • Engage with the tech organization beyond our team by participating in company-wide decisions on architecture, data, and process patterns.
  • Partner with Product to maintain the right balance between feature and technical work.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 4 years experience as a software engineer building beautiful, scalable, and highly visible web applications.
  • Experience working on the server-side in a modern application stack. We primarily use Node and Postgres, with some Ruby and Mongo. Strong experience with other languages or persistence layers is fine as well.
  • Familiarity with the latest Javascript technologies and experience building new front-end features in a modern framework such as React. Exposure to a range of front-end frameworks and component libraries is a plus.
  • Experience working with Cloud infrastructure platforms. Experience with AWS a plus.
  • A track record of delivering creative solutions to complex architectural problems.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks on the back-end and front-end. You consider solid test coverage to be a critical part of the development process.
  • Comfort working with Agile principles. You are an advocate for Agile processes and a strong believer in the importance of Agile when producing high-quality software.
  • Excellent time management skills. You are able to set milestones and exercise independent judgment to complete projects on time and to specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to explain problems to technical and non-technical folks alike. A love for sharing knowledge and a desire to learn from others.

You will be challenged with managing innovative solutions and you will be empowered with the autonomy and opportunity to impact change within the $250 billion international wedding marketplace. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate high quality, scalable product deployment through recommending requirements, architectural designs, user stories, and other artifacts.
  • Participate in productive, results-driven business discussions and decision making.
  • Lead the design and implementation of mechanisms to share data securely and efficiently between teams.
  • Implement solutions quickly and efficiently with minimal error and delegate lower level tasks to more Junior developers through mentorship, when appropriate.
  • Ensure minimal tech debt during and after feature development and make thoughtful, forward-thinking technological choices so that future development isn’t impacted.
  • Execute strategy surrounding code deployments and manage the foundation and framework for others to be effective throughout the release process.

SUCCESSFUL SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or 5-6 years of engineering experience; hands-on coding is required and advance degrees are a bonus.
  • Extensive full-stack knowledge in a wide range of technologies; specifically, experience coding with and delivering product in at least one compiled high-level language (C++, C, Java, Scala, etc) and in at least one interpreted web-friendly scripting language (PHP, Ruby, Perl, Python, Elixir, etc.). Experience in one or more of the following technologies a bonus: Ruby on Rails, React/Redux/ES6/Webpack, PHP, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, Chef, NGINX.
  • A passion for coding, design and automation, technical expertise, and knowledge to effectively hide internal complexity behind elegant and simple interfaces.
