Real-Time Pregnancy and Parenting Advice Just Became More Personal at The Bump
The Bump Relaunches Its User Experience for the Web As the First-Ever Personalized Pregnancy and Parenting Website
NEW YORK, NY/February 5, 2015 – Every mom and baby is unique. And now, a mom’s pregnancy and parenting information is too. The Bump, a leading multiplatform pregnancy and parenting brand, today announced the relaunch of TheBump.com as the first-ever completely personalized website for expectant and new parents. The same trusted content and information, is now tailored specifically to a mom’s week of pregnancy or the age of her child. Different parents will see different home screens for The Bump each time they log into their account from any device or platform. In addition to a personalized content experience, The Bump is launching a new, real-time parenting video series, a contributor network and a sweepstakes.
Following the success of The Bump Pregnancy app for iPhone and Android and The Bump Babyapp for iPhone, and keeping in mind that millennial moms spend the majority of their mobile time on feed-based sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, The Bump has launched a desktop and mobile experience that will provide a personalized feed of articles, videos and expert Q&As tailored to the exact week a mom is experiencing in her pregnancy or the developmental stage of her baby. If a mom is 12 weeks pregnant, she’ll see content specific to what she’s experiencing and how baby is developing at that week in her feed. If a mom has an eight-month-old baby, she’ll receive information in her feed relevant to her baby’s age and development. With this relaunch, The Bump users will now have an identical experience on every single platform — app, mobile, tablet and desktop.
“The Bump has a rich history of helping parents navigate and celebrate the joys — and hiccups — of pregnancy and parenthood,” said Josh Himwich, vice president of product for The Bump. “As a father, I know how pressed for time you can be, and the need for answers that are significant to you and your baby is extremely important. Our mobile-first product strategy built the foundation for this relaunch and allowed us to restructure our technology to give parents the information they need and want without having to self-filter through unrelated or extraneous content. We’ve created a personalized experience completely unique to them at The Bump.”
In addition to the personalization technology, The Bump has launched a Baby Milestones Video Series featuring real first-time families talking about baby’s development and key milestones, from newborn to 12 months. The series is a set of modern, fresh and relatable baby videos featuring diverse families, including gay parents, parents of twins, and mixed race families, sharing baby’s postnatal journey with inside stories and first-hand experiences. Each documentary-style video also provides expert pediatrician information while highlighting how real parents handle naptime, the introduction of solids, tummy time and more.
The Bump has also launched The Bump Contributor Network with advice about getting pregnant, parenting and everything in between, from real moms like Molly Sims, Soleil Moon Frye, Bobbie Thomas, The Pump and Dump ladies and more.
Anyone can celebrate The Bump relaunch by entering the Baby, This Is Big sweepstakes for a chance to win products from Babies “R” Us, Cord Blood Registry, Fisher-Price, Dr. Smith’s and more valued at over $4,000.
