4 Out of 10 Weddings are Planned in 6 Months or Less

A recent study carried out by Bodas.com.mx shows that 38% of couples plan their weddings between 1 and 6 months from their engagement in Mexico.

• In just one year the number of couples planning an “express wedding” has increased from 32% to 38% showing an upward trend.
• The internet is the main way couples plan their weddings, with 70% searching their vendors online.

Mexico City, May 29, 2018 – Meghan and Harry’s Royal Wedding held a few days ago, was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated events of the year and kept millions of people around the world glued to their screens. It was a spectacular wedding in which every detail was taken into account: from the wedding ceremony to the couple’s carriage ride. And all this, just a few months after the official engagement was announced last November 27. In less than 5 months all the preparations for the biggest wedding of the year were organized. An impossible task? Not at all. In the era of digital wedding planning, marrying in record time is more common than it seems.

A recent study of newlywed couples by leading wedding website, Bodas.com.mx reveals the wedding planning trends of Mexican couples and points out that more and more couples are shortening their engagements. Historically, about a year passed between the proposal and the wedding, and for most Mexicans, it still does.

In general, longer planning periods allow couples to coordinate with vendors and wait for guest RSVPs and dates.

However, according to the results of the survey of Bodas.com.mx, 38% of couples planned their weddings in a period of 1 to 6 months from the date of official engagement. Just a year ago that number was 32%. The reasons behind this growing trend can vary: excitement for the big day, or simply the circumstances

Enthusiasm for wanting to get married as soon as possible or, simply, circumstances can force you to organize everything in the short term, and all this doesn’t have to mean sacrificing attention to detail.
